ABV 8.4% IBU 65
Today’s beer profile comes to us from the #Aleyards in West Toronto. Rainhard Brewing Co gives us Revolution Series 8, which is a double dry hopped IIPA. I picked up mine from the brewery in a nifty 330mL can. I’m loving the move to 355mL cans for high ABV beers because I’m drinking because I like beer and not because I want to be drunk.
Rainhard Brewing Co has carved out a niche for themselves in the crowded Toronto Craft beer scene with a solid lineup of staple beers and a steady mix of specialty and seasonal beers. The brewery doubled in size a few months ago to accommodate an expansion of their barrel aged series.
Fruit and Lactose
Revolution Series 8 pours a hazy and muted pale orange colour. The foamy top vanished rapidly. The aroma is best described as a tropical fruit explosion. The can I got was really fresh and the big hop aroma bomb wasn’t shy. The flavour is a subtle malt with big pineapple and papaya tones. The mouthfeel is full – owing to an 8.4% ABV and the use of lactose. The finish is bitter and balances the flavour well.
Revolution Series 8 is just another reason that Rainhard Brewing Co is a rising star in the craft beer scene. Click here to check out the latest from Rainhard Brewing Co.
