ABV 5% IBU?

Summer is here and nothing says summer quite like a white wheat beer. Today’s profile features Spotted Cow by Amsterdam Brewery. It’s made in the classic Belgian Wheat style and is a perfect match for sitting outside on a patio or deck.

Amsterdam Brewery has called Toronto home since 2005 at their original Bathurst St location across from Fort York. The brewing now takes place in North York but the waterfront restaurant at the Harbourfront is extremely popular and has one of the best patio’s in the city.

When hosting friends from out of town, we usually bring them to dinner and a flight at Amsterdam Brewery before taking in a Blue Jays game at the dome. It’s best to make reservations or get there early to ensure a premium patio table.

Spotted Cow is a classic Belgian style white wheat beer. The colour is a pale orange with a good haze and ample foamy top. The aroma is a mild clove and coriander. The taste is has a slight tang and good balance or citrus and clove. There’s a clean and dry finish. It’s exactly what you expect from the style.

Amsterdam Brewery has a full lineup of beer and a bottle shop down at their Harbourfront location. Check out their webpage here.

Why not celebrate the summer time with a Toronto Craft Brewery Crawl with Backyard Beer Tours. Your group will experience Toronto’s Craft Beer Scene first hand and learn how to taste beer like a pro. Click here for more information and to book a tour today. Gift vouchers also available.
